Disagreement is good... at least for me... this way I learn things... :)

Spoke with a friend a couple of days ago who is interested in these things. He tells me that during the severe inflation in Argentina some years ago one of the things which best preserved their value (as measured in purchasing capacity) were equities - company shares. Pesos, in the meantime, were collapsing.

US budget deficit currently at a 5-year low...and as %GDP FAR below enormous levels being incurred in the EU...France, Germany, Italy..and so on..and Japan..Only the virtuous Canadians exceed us among the advanced economies

Not too out of whack with the G7 according to this chart, just slightly above average:
