Remember that Obama and his wife both raised the question about his safety early in his campaign. Michelle broached the queston early.

I felt then as I feel now that all candidates should have security as any of them risk the possibility of being killed.

These women in South Carolina have much to overcome in their thinking. (This is not a criticism of them.)

Like all women they want to protect those they care about.

However, there comes a point when a woman must stand back and recognize that life is a risk for their sons and for their daughters as well as others.

Obama is the first educated, man with black ancestry to run for President. It is natural that they have these concerns.

I don't see it as a 'Clinton machine" plot to spread unease or as a Republican plot to do the same.
