i believe the problem is social medicare. not enough money to make sure these homes get the coverage and supervision they require. It made the families keep quiet for fear that the person may be treated , neglected even more so.

I expect if the money was available , there would be more nursing homes, better care, more supervision. sounds like limit number of homes, low pay help, high turnover, unable to fill low paying jobs.

for some there's no other choice but a nursing home. a husband or wife sick themselves, frail, unable to care for loved one's basic needs. Patients can become violent, hurt themselves, others, possibly need to be restrained.
