"A 2006 Madonna and Child design was presented in August to reporters at a Stamp show I have been unable to get a confirmation that the USPS is actually going to issue it next year."

Given that you can buy it on their web site, you can safely assume the answer is "yes".

So, not being satisfied with your story being blown out of the water, you post more to embarrass yourself even further.

The original post was probably just made up bullshit. No grandma. No trip down to the post office and being told a patently false little story. There wasn't a new religious stamp issued in 2005 because the postage rate was going to change in January, 2006. They didn't want to issue a stamp that would have had a very short lifespan. Although they did have stock of the 2004 stamp.
