Hillary has positioned herself in the dead center which pisses off progressives who want major changes. But Hillary is being smart. Remember, in 2006, the dems squashed the GOP by running centrist, not true progressives. Although some states like Minnesota and Oregon will change to progressive leadership in 2008, moving away from centrists.

The GOP has nothing to run against Hillary on but trying to smear her dishonestly as a "lesbian". I doubt that will get any traction, especially with Condi Rice moving in with a woman and Hillary staying true to her man and being a good wife and mother. It also helps that her man was our greatest president since JFK and everyone knows it, and his tam is running her campaign.

All that said, if Edwards beats Hillary in Iowa he could make it a race. And if Gore enters, he could walk away with it, not just the nomination but the entire enchilada. And I heard from an insider that Gore does not like Hillary or even Bill much at all. So there is no loyalty issue there.

In the general election, expect Hillary to pick Wes Clark which will kill any chickenhawk GOP candidate from talking tough on terrorism. Remember, none of the major GOP leaders have ever come close to even being in the military unless you count Bush who went AWOl and lied about it.
