Jake, That's the good news. The bad news is the deficit next year will be much higher. The Treasury dept is already planning for increased bond and note sales. In 8 years under Bush, the national debt will increase by $4 Trillion. That's Four Thousand Billion Dollars.

The Bush Treasury uses Enron accounting to hide huge-huge deficits and push them down the road to land on the next administation. USA Today's report states that the Bush deficit is really 500% higher than they are admitting, in other words over 10 trillion dollars. All of this money will have to be paid back, mainly by average Americans, some of whom supported Bush shafting them. People like you. If you pay taxes you are going to be paying a lot more soon to pay back the humongus Bush era deficits because remember spending, fraud, corruption and abuse are way-way up under Bush. Way up. The disaster in Iraq alone will cost over a trillion dollars, all wasted money.
