haven't book a hotel in a decade but they used to take your credit as reserve to charge credit card so when you checked out it didn't bounce.

The overbooking scam is done worldwide and can done with any kind of reservation or appointment that has a fee.

I haven't booked a flight since last April, but it doesn't matter really. I use airline miles and do my own hotel bookings.

But you're right. Something is rotten in Denmark.
