I had my roof done a year ago. Biggest complaint was prices hadn't increased in five years (in my area) by contractors. They are unable to pass on labor increases because so many firms are hiring Hispanic labor at cheaper rates. This is terrific for consumer but is killing the laborer. Most get roofing jobs and make a good living , because most consumers do not shop around. If they did they would find wide variations in charges yet they all use the same materials.

Construction accidents happen and training is often not what it should be, but there would be fewer mishaps if everyone spoke English.
