Yes. By that I mean American citizenship carries with it (a birth right) access to catastrophic and needed health care. This does not mean we give up on employer financed insurance and tax advantaged health care savings accounts and the like.

There are somethings that only government organizations can do. Just because they have not been doing them efficiently in the past mean that we can not keep trying to improve. Only government organizations can provide the help needed after Katrina. The fact that the current administration failed after Katrina, does not mean that we do not try to do better after the next Katrina.

If we have enough wealth to help Iraqiis build a better Iraq, we have enough wealth to build a better America.

It does not make any sense to build a better Iraq or ME and not build a better America.
