While I appreciate the warning - I can't see how this weapon is worse than the existing technologies (for lack of better words) like guns, pepper sprays and clubs. Hitting people over the head is far worse to watch than a quick tasering - one youtube video after another shows how quickly people generally straighten up and start following lawful orders. I'll bet not a single study shows getting hit with a night stick does not cause harm. In fact with tasers it appears more people get hurt falling down than by the jolt itself.

Are there abusive police working now, past and future? Yes of course.

I suggest every department buy the optional video camera to record the taser usage and of course drive my stocks price. :-)

I'm all for prosecuting bad cops that abuse any weapon or authority, but this tool is generally a life saver for police and criminals including the scores of would be suicides they have prevented to date.
