Reagan did a lot of dirty secret things, like Iran-Contra. He was a damn charismatic man but some of the black ops type rightwing super-hawks working for him were the worst of the worst. Just think how many would have died if they'd gotten their wish to invade Central America. And what threat has Nicaragua been since then? None at all. You can also credit Reagan with the S+L debacle, in today's dollars about a trillion and a half bucks stolen from the public wealth, and the corruption was centered (where else?) in Texas.
