LIAR. Carter's mistake was supporting the Shah by letting himn into the US for medical treatment. That and only that is what triggered the hostage taking. The Shah could not be propped up by then, he was already politically dead and phyiscally dying. You rightwingers like to blame everyone on Carter, but Carter was and is a great peacemaker and diplomat. He is also a courageous man and a true christian.

I fear the next president will have many of Carter;'s problems because like him he/she will inherit a huge deficit, enormous war debt, a tattered exhausted US military, sky-high energy prices and chaos and rebellion in dangerous parts of the world.

Also, if you think the Shah was so great why don't you read up on him. He was a puppet of the west who was forced on the Iranian people and instead of being a benign dictator and caring about his people he lived the life of a multi-billionaire and only cared about himself and his elite.
