The S+L debacle was Texas-style Reagan-era deregulation at its worst, and every time we have massive deregulation in any sector, it's the consumers and public who get ripped off. because you Republicans seem to think we can trust corporate giants to do the right thing and voluntarily treat us all fairly. BS. Give them an inch they will take a mile. Regulation of industries is a very smart and necessary thing, as if preserving the right to sue them if they damage us and make them pay for their pollution and others crimes. Also they shouldn't be able to evade US taxes by making cheap goods in 3rd world countries.
