hi ray, i have real estate in hk cbd at 999 years, from date of purchase

i have property at 99 years, and

the new acquisition is may be 99 years, with atleast 69 to go yet, or, dare i think it, 969 years to go yet?

new land premium is not onerous in hk, and generally approved, and even when not, government would still have to pay market price for the building in relation to similar buildings in the area with its land lease intact

hawaii has the same system and works ok

you must remember, hk govt raises revenue by selling new land, and should they screw the existing land leasees, ... bad stuff happen

on the book, thanks for the headsup ... without having even read it, i have faith

though the market ... it is nuts ... but may get nuttier still, perhaps to 8,000 (shanghai index)
