Spain wasn't a commercial power that relied heavily on capital. It was a pastoral feudal power that was dependent on loot from abroad.

The negative effect of the Spanish culture upon the world is obvious to see. Not one rich Spanish-speaking country. It's a Feudal Culture. The fact that Spain missed the Renaissance is key, IMO.

Our multicultural Historians will never admit this, of course. One more example of how bad our educational system is.
