But it wouldn't be 'reckless and stupid' for some of the rest of us to post our positions / buys / sells / trades?

Yes, I agree with you (it's just with me there are additional legal ramifications).

It does nothing positive for someone to post buys, sells and trades publicly and can it can induce a lot of negatives. Mostly, it effects your psychology/conviction. Conviction is the very thing that enables you to stick with a well reasoned and rational plan when short term movements in price are pushing you around.

The other thing is that people get caught up in making good public "calls" with the attendant bragging rights, public adoration or pats on the back....frankly, I'd rather spend my time making good calls with real money and make real money. I'm not working my ass off 18 hours a day to try to earn grudging respect from some chat room chatties.

Aside from that, he's not really interested in knowing what I buy or sell, he's really only interested in using whatever information it would reveal to hit me over the head with it.

Most people here wouldn't even remember my buys and sells even if I were to post them, since I do so little trading. I hold my winning positions for years. I sell losers right away, so what I'd be showing would be my selling of the losers. In this market, where everyone seems to suffer from ADD, no one would remember that the bulk of my positions are green.
