That's interesting. I had abdominal surgery about 5 years ago with about 9 inches down the middle of my belly and the removal of 18 inches of small intestine. They hooked me up for self administered morphine. Later the next day the nurse asked if I'd been instructed on how to do that. I answered yes, she said but you haven't used any and my reply was, I haven't needed it. As best I can recall, I never used a drop.
