Turkey is border country. Blame the Europeans not to have brought them into the fold. Europe is on a defensive mood. Know that tghey have too much on their plate.

Leaving Turkey out of the EU was a big mistake. They will regret that. Let the Russian no other options but to exert its influence in the region. Note Putin trip to Tehran.
