<<<and who are being lifted out of poverty through the spread of capatalism, a strong work ethic, and the transition from agriculture to industrial society

are we not seeing increasing numbers in North America that are living paycheck to paycheck (see recent articles, some have been cut and pasted on some threads here), i.e. pushed down into poverty?

also while we are transitioning from ag to industry, what about the input costs, which seem to be doubling in price, oil, wheat, corn, etc.

finally, its true that a few collapsed banks here or there might not stop the big picture, but wouldn't this collapse be tied into the collapse of j6p's spending binges ? and if j6p ain't buying what the east might produce, who will?

You left out one small detail: Chindia leans heavily on the US consumer, and is vulnerable to their sneezing or their $ plummeting.

> Try to take a big picture. <<

nice spin -- Is more money going to save the world? or faster computers? more technology? faster cars? more information? bailing out some big banks? better SIV's? a 100 billion dollar conduit? Intrinsically it's all neither good nor bad. Why don't you measure it all in how much suffering these fraudulent debt vehicles [ect.] have caused. Why don't you look at the big picture? Was rome destroyed in a day? How much suffering came about because some guys got filthy stinking rich and burned 2 to 14 million home buyers [suckers]? [not to mention debt buying suckers] How much suffering comes from being a debt slave for 30 years? look at the big picture? [PLEASE} Who are we trying to insult here? With all due respect for your contrived abundance. Let's take a big picture.
