I disagree, but know that the author wrote his letter more in the spirit of fun and entertainment, with some table pounding thrown in for that warm fuzzy feeling.

However, it's strange how hubris from another place irks me. The lost sense of history, and the lack of acknowledgement that the very technological/economic foundations that has enabled Asia's growth had their origins in the countries he is trying to poke fun at...

I suppose I now know a bit how Europeans feel when they see the hubris of their descendents (Americans), lol. Well intentioned, we leave a path of destruction in our wake, and Europe has certainly trampled that path many times before.

"who actually achieved more in five years than the likes of Japan, Italy, Germany and Russia among you managed in your entire history." He's obviously never tasted a fine glass of Chianti!
