Wayne, i don't want to misrepresent your position, but...

i stated one shouldn't ransack houses based on "legitimate concerns" alone.

you took issue, i surmise, b/c you think it is OK to ransack the neighbors' houses under certain circumstances.

if that is your view, you must not like the constitution much, b/c it doesn't allow for that. for good reason.

the risk of the people in power abusing this kind of power is many times that (actually, its a certainty if given enough time - which might not be as long as you think) of the consequences of not ransacking neighbors' homes and having something bad happen.

i also believe that it is better to let a few guilty people off due to a lack of evidence beyond a reasonable doubt than it is to lock up lots of innocent folks based upon a "legitimate concern" as to their guilt.

the founders knew that more ought to be required and i think they showed wisdom.
