I'd say the American Indians culture is vastly misunderstood. IMHO they had ALL THEY NEEDED to live the good life. They were a relatively smaller number of people, with a rich bounty of land surrounding them. Until the white man came you never heard of a skinny indian or a epidemic wiping out a tribe. They had the medicines needed for the diseases they faced, all the food they wanted to eat. Someone said they didnt have writing, that is false. They didnt have writing AS WE KNOW IT but they told their lore in PICTURES. They even had sign language to communicate among tribes of different languages. IMHO they were not nearly so SAVAGE as we are today. jdn

Very interesting observation, Oyster. I never thought about that. I always thought it was for lack of need, because wild game abounded everywhere.
