It was an irony: "problem" not problem. Lots of luck to you too.

We're witnessing a Global Marshall Plan multiplied by 10.000. Instead of countries in post war ruins we find today countries with dilapidated infrastructure needing investment.

I saw what, a couple of years, with a couple of $100K can do. The effects were unexpected and I started extrapolating that on worldwide scale.

I found a blocked street with a nice lot surrounded by simple houses. I noticed it was 500m away from the road that circles the city on the north. All utilities services were there besides paving and storm drainage.
I bought it and told my wife: in 3 to 5 years this will all be built.

As soon as I cleaned up the lot, the neighbors started doing the same. They told me they wanted to sell. As I started construction they went into action and pushed for the street to be unblocked by the dispute between municipality and owner.

As it was unblocked they pressed for paving and got it done. Mostly stopping the municipality by asking exactly what they wanted.

Today it is being build all over the place: The neighbors, instead of selling their lots, started to build themselves. My neighbor, had two houses, sold one is building a swimming pool. We agreed to have only one type of sidewalk all along the street and other details all of that with the knowledge that anything going there will return to us.

From March 2005 to September 2007 it is a totally different picture.

I extrapolate this to a global scale and thought: If couple of $100K does this, imagine what a truck load of moolah will do ina global scale?

The value was there. It just needed to be unlocked. That;s not bubble. It is just extracting the potential value.

I know in Curitiba once an area starts to be build up, the commerce in the region goes one step up the scale. If the commerce goes up a notch in the scale, the housing properties follow suit... And so it goes, in tandem.
