I agree. But we live in the here and now and must deal with iran realistically, both carrot and stick. You have always been a reasonable guy. How do you feel about my thesis that iran nukes destaabilize the arab middle east in a way that could have catastrophic consequences. It puts the shiaa arc with nukes squarely in the face of sunni arab states. They react by proliferating and that could end up being simply the acquisition of a pakistan nuke bought and paid for or stolen and delivered to them by al quaeda. Sounds wild enuff but those of us who are as old as i am remember how close US and USSR came ot war in 62 and neither of us was fanatical in the islamist sense. Iranian nukes threaten arab states in a way the israeli stockpile never could. Latter is a detterent. 4 or 5 iranian bombs can be used for blackmail or just used. And even if they were used only on israel, the result would be cataclysmic for the ME.
