Very good article, but I think the comparison to the Cold War falls flat. The fundamental problem, I think, is Islam itself. That's politically incorrect, but I think future events will show it to be true. Communism was an ideology, Islam is a religion. People change ideologies fairly readily, but not religions. Religion is much more core, elemental and difficult to change. To see what's going on today, one should cite the 10th century, not the 20th century.
