I am thoroughly amazed that so many people think nukes cant or wont be used. Sure its unlikely but it was unlikely in 1962 as well. That was before the hotline phone etc. and in places in the world where peoples dont even talk to each other why would their use be such a surprise, even if only by accident.

They want them because they've seen how we've handled two of the three Axis of Evil countries. The one with the nukes, we negotiated with, the other we attacked. Iranians are not idiots.
