Certain things are just facts. What happened to the refugees was awful but the arabs refused to even negotiate a post war treaty and then either deliberatley or not let the camps fester rather than do any relocation at all. In 1949, mutual recognition was all that it would have taken to minimize refugee problem. Jews wanted security and recognition far more than land. What they got was jews expelled from all arab lands to israel and a permanent refugee class placed on the border and allowed to rot by the arabs. Is that what the IRA would have done with catholic refugees Mike? No way.
