Given a choice between the dollar and the stock-markets, Bernanke will favor the stock-markets. In fact, the dollar is already the sacrificial lamb. Corporate media is already full of how a weakening dollar would do wonderful things for America

Given where we are now - what could be done to strengthen the dollar?

If you were an ex-pat living in Canada who kept your retirement portfolio in the US and had $1 million in savings just 2 1/2 months ago, you'd have lost about $100k by today from the collapsing US dollar. I'm sure there are many in that situation who've experienced a similar decline in savings.
