"the mess in Iraq was supposed to have been just a warmup"

That was the plan! After they greeted us with flowers and kisses, we would just keep rolling through Iran and Syria, who's populations would also have grovelled at the feet of their American saviors, all become model democracies, and elected America and Israel loving governments and everything would have been made right with the world!

But..

I've heard the same thing for several years. Dumbya got the spelling wrong and went the wrong way.

The Neocons (a blast from the past) thought they would run right over Iraq, turn it into a subsidiary of BigOil and provide a base of operations to turn the ME into a subsidiary of Israel, the Carlyle Group, Bechtel, the Bushies, Halliburton et al.

They had big dreams, unlimited money, majority support in Congress and the American public and look what they did with it.

The one thing they are thrilled about is $100/bbl oil and noncompete contracts for themselves. The corruption is so huge it is mind boggling and still middle class Americans shill for these thieves.

That is just outrageously sad.
