47 million people are uninsured at some point of the year, not at every moment, and many of them have the money to buy insurance and choose not to. Others are poor enough to qualify for government programs (Medicare, SCHIP, etc.) and haven't signed up.

Lordy, that number keeps escalating. When this thread started, I think it was around 40 million. Only this morning it was 43. Now we're up to 47.

The hyperbole grows...
