The "value" of the dollar is based on a huge blast of upward moving hot air. The hot air is growth -- growth based on an increasingly untenable fiscal, monetary and trade position, all of which assumes and endless recycling of foreign currencies buying dollars. Take away the hot air and the dollar crashes. That is to what I am referring. Nothing the Fed does now will make a bit of difference any more than telling a man with big tumors in his lungs will do anything to return him to health.

For those who only focus solely on monetary policy, you are trying to see a three dimensional object by looking at only one dimension. No change in monetary policy will help now -- although clearly there are things that can be done to make it much, much worse and that is the area I see you rightly pointing to in your posts.
