Yup, markets are always fluctuating and nothing is written in stone which is why plans often change. I've tried a few different strategies this year which I haven't done before such as being invested in seniors in the summer (less volatility than juniors) and fall (seniors move first). Both of these strategies worked to my benefit. Currently, I only own near term producers and developers which is a new strategy or plan whatever you want to call it. This has worked well, thanks to CC. I've also tried "sell on stops" recently with up to 10-15% of my PF but have been on the losing end of this strategy having to buy back higher. So currently I've scrapped that plan. I also messed around with HXD (TSX short) before the summer but also lost money on that. Maybe next year I'll be 100% cash in the summer, but Howy keeps reminding me that in bull markets there are often summer rallies, so I'm always on the lookout.

I'm tired of being bag holder in these markets so I figure even a bozo has to have some plans to preserve his profits and capital even though plans can change. I figure making money in a bull market is easy but holding on to gains is hard for me, something I haven't been able to do successfully. So I keep trying....

My plan is when I get giddy and start thinking I am a know it all that is the time to sell. In this game over confidence can at turning points be a PF killer. Uh just when is the turning point?
