Yeah, I'm pretty good with interfaces. I have my computer tweaked to within an inch of it's life.

Nope this is a bug.

My icons are meticulously arranged for ease of use. About once every 2 or 3 months they rearrange themselves. Most of them end up in a big pile over my boot partition icon which is particularly irritating. I rearrange them and then boot to my spare partition and run Diskwarrior/Disk Utility and then go back to business as usual. I'm using a couple of haxies, that may have something to do with it. Dragthing and WindowshadeX which are both worth the extra hassles if they are causing it.

It could also be because my system needs an archive and reinstall. It's about 2 years old or more. It's been my experience that systems just get buggier and buggier with age no matter what the system. UNIX is way stable but Apple has added a lot of visual stuff. I generally turn off the useless window dressing stuff like the genie.

I shut down everyday with cocktail too so I do try to keep it healthy.

Its a bug.
