My guess is that few beta testers are using G4s. I mean that's two or three generations ago. Early adopters tend to upgrade machines more often and certainly there is no reason for Apple's in house testers not to upgrade to the latest unless they specifically are testing G4s. There are a heck of a lot of different G4 models. Plus even though Apple is supporting G4s, there is no money in it. It's understandable there are going to be problems in older machines, especially since the made such a radical change in the hardware architecture.

I wouldn't touch an early upgrade on my dual Gig G4 with a ten foot pole. Too unpredictable. Certainly not on my main partition.
