While generally I prefer to just READ THE WORDS... (and then think for myself. :-) For example: I have found many useful tactical and strategic insights in the writings of Sun Tsu AND Clausewitz... Mao AND Hitler... Machiavelli AND Jefferson... Lee AND Grant.... And, you know what, MJ? I've never yet had any difficulty drawing distinctions between a concept expressed in a writer's words, and the personal biases carried by that writer. (Reading Mein Kampf never caused any great or over-whelming urge in me to turn into a Nazi... nor did reading the 'Little Red Book' produce a desire to join the Maoist masses.... <GGG>) Perhaps it gives you more difficulty to do so, though MJ? (And, then again... I suppose you could be correct in your inferences, and it's likely that no one graduating magna cum laude from Harvard, or who served as editorial chair of The Harvard Crimson, honorary Harvard College scholar, a member of Phi Beta Kappa or recipient of a Henry Russell Shaw Traveling Fellowship... could POSSIBLY be clear-spoken enough to have ANYTHING of substance to note about current culture.... <G>)
