Its funny how you get under everyones skin. I love that. You torture me a bit with pasrael and then you drive sarman ballistic on the refugee problem. There is a need for more gadflys like you and less ideologues like sarman and nadine. I do try to think out of the box on the mideast, although many here who are unalterably opposed to israel think so.

Re: about asking folks in region what they think.
Israelis has multiple view. The pal political view is divided between hamas and fatah. I have heard regular pals interviewed every once is awhile when they didnt feel fearful about being punished for what they were saying. I always sensed an underlying realism about existance of israel and a two state solutoin. Problem is that fatah in the past and hamas today create the turmoil that leads to repressive consequences for pal people--as intended i think. Thats the cycle of violence that wont end. When will a pal leader arise who sees this and when will there be a non-threatening israeli leader? Rabin is the closest on israels side--pals need some young progressive poitical folks.
