Apparently their idea was that it would appeal to church goers kind of like with The Passion except without the blood, gore or religious stuff.

I did not enjoy it. Humor that involves and actor hitting his thumb repeatedly is just stupid. There was far too much stupid stuff in Evan- the parts I saw, and I'm informed by my husband that it didn't get any better after I fell asleep.

On the other hand- are you watching Mrs Pritchard (sp?) on Masterpiece theater? gosh that's a fun one
