Yes, but the interface was a bit lacking, IMHO. Looking for what you wanted if you couldn't remember which version it was in was a nightmare. There's no doubt that the idea of automated backups has been around for a long, long time. But Time Machine gives the beast an intuitive and friendly face, which makes it a delight to use. This is the genius of Apple.
