"how much deeper into the hole do we have to sink before we have reached crisis?"

Donno... but it just doesn't feel like national 'crisis time' just yet.

Although one can never know from exactly which direction a major storm cloud will appear and precipitate a national crisis, I'm thinking along the lines of Financial Crises, mostly.

It is getting very bad. When the recession caused by the minimum wage increase comes home to roost people might start to feel a little pinched. The next set of democrat tax increases as the President Bush tax relief expires will cause some major disruption. Even Hillary admitted that we could not afford her ideas.

I have this sinking feeling that about 2009 to 2010 things will start getting really ugly.
