Yeah, starving to death in a derelict school bus doesn't have a whole lot of action in it.

I'm sure the movie can't do the book justice. I read an article in Adventure magazine about the making of the film and they added a lot of stuff for cinematic effect.

There's not much cinematic drama in starving to death from eating the wrong kind of berries.

The Krakauer book was excellent. "Into Thin Air" is another of my favorites of his.
