I agree totally. We shouldn't be choosing governments or interfering overseas at all. I am totally with Ron Paul on that.

I differ with Ron Paul on one count. It's one thing to spell out the idealistic objective, it's another to implement it immediately given "existing" realities.

If we are thinking of changing philosophies rapidly, we must spell out the economic and political risks/consequences to the world (especially the US and our major trading partners) if all hell breaks loose in the Middle East and we lose access to the oil or if the price rises very substantially as a result.

I think this is a very long term problem that requires a short term change of direction, but not a major overhaul....yet.
