The credential thing is to be expected. Doctors, lawyers, geologists, accountants engineers, architects, etc.. what you get is am over flood of professionals and the consulting prices go right to the floor. So its protective. They are just as fiercely protective of excess numbers domestically in schools, and professional organizations. I would say standards checking is a good thing. As well we find that what you learn in one language you only know in that language. Force to operate in a different language you have to often relearn the practices and principles. I have seen many good professionals trained in other countries going badly underemployed. Often this is tragic in that the CDN business does not even know how they can expand their operations with this talent. Engineers end up working in warehouses, 7-11's and as taxi drivers. And the thing is we badly need skilled personnel. Nowhere is this more dramatically seen than in the mining industry. But trained people in our industry niches are still sadly lacking. I know we can get a good cadre of willing trainees in the tech sector. But looking for people in trades is harder. The thing is to find them as the immigrant is simply not cognizant of the conduits to employment in our industry. They probably think the Canada Manpower is the answer. No, they could not think that if they have been there more than once. Connecting the employer with the employee in Canada has always been a problem. First we have to find the money to start some employers. That alone is getting tough in Canuckistan. I think we are regulating our way out of business start ups that do anything real in this country. Immigrants come he looking for work that does not exist. Canadian money is looking for countries where they can start a business. Perhaps they can meet at the airport and get together on this.
