I think Podhoretz and many Zionists feel that Israel is so small that even one nuke would do irreparable damage, even though Israel could glass over every Iranian city in retaliation. If Israel was under nuclear threat, would any Jews from anywhere else want to go there? How many dual-citizenship Israelis would stay? So, they can't allow any of their enemies even ONE nuke. Even ONE nuke would be enough to prevent Israel from enforcing their will militarily on the region. As an American who grew up thinking that I'd die in a nuclear holocaust with 30,000 Soviet nukes aimed at me every day, I think they're a bunch of paranoid pussies with no stones at all.
