Keep your eye on the unicorn and the unicorn origami.

So the Director's Cut version I have on DVD is not how Ridley Scott intended it to be? That must have been so frustrating for him.

Indeed, it was not Ridley's Scott's. Though it incorporated some of his ideas, it was not his true vision for the film. All of the details are laid out in the book Future Noir: The Making of Blade Runner by Paul Sammon. An excellent read for any avid fan of the film.

The Final Cut corrects the continuity errors and plot details of the original (and Director's Cut), even digitally altering some scenes slightly for a better experience. While many will find it to be minutia, even Blade Runner in its original form is considered a masterpiece in film science fiction by many.

Personally, I think he should make a new movie instead of continually trying to sell us new versions of this one. ;-)

I'd hate to see a completely new version of BR or even a sequel. Nothing can duplicate the atmosphere and trials involved in making BR what it was and is to this day. Be sure to watch Dangerous Days, the 3-hour documentary included on the DVD sets about the difficulties involved in making the film.

I'd love to see Ridley Scott make another sci-fi film, just nothing to do with Blade Runner.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled Apple program...

From what I understand, there was the originally released film that Scott didn't like, then ANOTHER release that he was not satisfied with either.

I believe he did not want the voice over, if I remember correctly.

And as Peter commented the origami points to a plot twist not evident in the original versions, although one might have guessed.
