Except for two small but possibly important points: 1) the 'fiscal conservatives' DON'T HAVE ANY 'RANKS' TO BREAK ANYMORE... 'cause pols in power perversely mouthing that label have been breaking all historical records for check kiting.... 2) the 'social conservatives' probably looking at a major revival of their ranks and causes if a liberal bunch gets to power... (while they are probably looking at irrelevance and political oblivion should Rudy win without them....) (A Rudy win, however, would expose them as Paper Tigers on the national political scene... banish them, defeated and rudderless, to the political hinterlands.)
