Well why don't you tell us why Gaza as a nation of Palestinians is not viable? Singapore works great as a densely population nation of Chinese. It's a great place to live, many Chinese in China would love to move there. Many do every year.

What's not viable about the Gaza Strip turning into a nation called Gazastan full of Palestinians?

Israel doesn't get such massive support, Noel. Just in your obsessed brain. Look at Israel's GDP, and especially its per capita GDP. Now compare that to the neighbors! It's almost an order of magnitude difference!

The support (most of which cycles back automatically to US defense contractors) just helps Israel buy some arms for what are after all extraordinary defense costs. But they are 2 or 3% of Israel's GDP, and it would survive very nicely without them.

Now, if we withdrew US support for Egypt's basket case economy, you might not be able to say the same.

Taba offered the Pals 97% of the WB & Gaza. These claims of balkanization are hooey and even the Pals didn't begin to make them until 6 month later, when they realized how much damage they were doing to themselves by boasting of have refused Israel's offer without a counter-proposal.

Israel is a damn postage stamp already. It runs on its people. If you put Israel into the West Bank and Gaza alone, you would get a functioning state with another Phuket-like tourist resort in Gaza.

The only sensible long run suggestion for the WB is to rejoin Jordan, which is after all 80% Palestinian already. But the Pal leadership have made that alternative permanently unpalatable.
