A friend of mine was working for ATT as a customer service rep for their DSL.

Knows nearly nothing about computers and has an irrational hatred for them. First level people work from a dichotomous book.

I never even bother with first tier support. I immediately ask for second tier. I usually know more than the second tiers too.

Last time I bothered SBC I had a supervisor tell me a 9k email was too big. Supervisors there are bureaucrats not wonks.
