Mish, I am NOT saying the pricing unit affects the price. I said that there are two variables - (a) fluctuations of the currency rate between the pricing unit and your currency, and (b) fluctuations in the price. They ARE independent of each other.

It may not be easy to protect yourself from (b), but you can protect yourself from (a) - by building up your reserves in the pricing unit, instead of in some other currency.

Mish,

Oil is set to hit $100 a barrel.

Gold is set to hit $800 an ounce.

Other commodities are periodically breaking all time highs.

Is this deflation?
