Zounds! You can do all that? All I wanted was to have my own web site hosting links to various vendors who'll send me a paycheck every now and then. Just some place where I can put up pictures to share with family and let them put theirs up as well. Perhaps a BBS thread with some BLogging, calendar hosting and a little web store.

(Big Wide Grin)

Actually I was thinking about getting a domain name, but was putting it off until actual retirement when I'll have much more time to refine the execution. Is GoDaddy one of those domain name hosts? How does that work?

amazon@herbvic.com
overstock@herbvic.com
victoriasecret@herbvic.com

etc and all these can go to one "catchall" e-mail address - different e-mail addresses but they end up in one box (if you wish)

A big word of warning about using a catchall address. You will be hit with spammers using dictionary attacks - guessing names at your domain - in hopes that a few will get through. If you use a catchall, ALL names they guess will get through.

I ran into this very problem several years ago, as I had done the same thing and set up email addresses for all the vendors I used. To make a long story short, I eventually had to dump the catchall account when I was getting over 10,000 spam emails per day. Even the best spam protection at the ISP cannot filter all of it, so you will still get a substantial amount of spam flooding your inbox.
