What do stories about Rio, Thailand & India have to with OZ other than they were reported by Australian news services? Maybe this is a tiny clue in your faulty logical progression that leads you to believe the U.S. is a hellhole.

You seem to be presuming too much. Just so you know, my friend is a missionary who has helped people in several poor countries. So you are LATE in asking that she post those links.................. You see, she does more than merely asking people to post links to inform other people about the plight of slum-dwelling folks outside of Oz. From what I have seen on the internet and on the Knowledge Network TV programs, Oz is not as great a place as you have cracked it up to be. But for a relatively thin strip of land inland from the coast all around Oz, the rest of the country further inland is fit only for roos, rabbits and dingos and koalas, snakes and the "abos" and perhaps some wandering "swagmen" and "larrikins". Also, there are far too many "whities" who have been on the dole for several generations. But for coloured "immigrants" willing to do labour many "whities" consider too demeaning, the economy of Oz would have been virtually zero, nada and zilch! .
